Travel: Tibet (July 8, 2009 – July 14, 2009)

Our trip to Tibet was definitely once in a life time experience.  We could never have imagined how it would feel to travel at 4000m over sea level.  Departing from Guangzhou, China, we arrived in Lhasa on a sunny afternoon.  The moment we stepped out of the airport terminal we immediately felt the lack of oxygen.  After arranging our itinerary for our trip outside of Lhasa we toured the famous Potala Palace.  Climbing the stairs up to the main room in the palace proved to be very tiring on our bodies, we tried out best to catch our breath after ten or so steps.  After getting acclimatize to the altitude, we began our long journey towards Everest base camp.  The scenery along route was amazing! We made many stops along the way to capture all those that unfolded on us.  Altitude sickness hit us every now and then during the whole journey but it was really worth it for what we saw.  Waking up and see the sun rise over Mount Everest is perhaps one of the best scenes you will see in a life time.  Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like to know more about our travel details.
