Travel: Banff & Jasper (Oct 13, 2010 – Oct 17, 2010)

Our first road trip ever! Even though it was a lot of driving on the road but we were rewarded by the jaw dropping scenery all along the way.  We spent a total of 4 days in Alberta.  Starting in Calgary airport we drove straight towards our first stop, Banff.  A small and beautiful strip of town located in the middle of the mountains filled with friendly people and tasty local food.  We loved the wild game meat on the menus there.  We also took a day trip to the famous Lake Louise.    The lake was very beautiful and calm, giving us a great relaxation feeling.  Weather was great and luckily we also got great light for our photos:).  Star gazing in the night is a must do out in the wilderness; we never saw so many stars and we even saw the milky way just looking up into the sky.  Jasper feels different than Banff, it is alot more quieter and less commercial.  The day trip we took to Maligne Lake was an eye opener and to be honest it perhaps looks more photogenic than Lake Louise!  We didn’t have much luck seeing much wildlife until the very last day which we saw groups after groups of them!  After driving a total of 1100km in 4 days for our trip, it was definately demanding on the body and mind but those 4 days were to be cherished for the rest of our lives.
